About us
Everyone deserves a clean, accessible restroom.
RestRating is a free, community-driven guide to public restrooms — built so that parents, travelers, delivery drivers and people with disabilities can plan ahead instead of hoping for the best.

Our story
RestRating began in 2021 with a simple frustration: you can look up the reviews for almost any restaurant on earth, but not for the one room everyone eventually needs. For a wheelchair user, a parent with a baby, or someone with a medical condition, a bad restroom isn’t an inconvenience — it can end the trip.
Based in Panama City, Panama, RestRating is the work of one dedicated founder and a growing community of reviewers who share what they find, one visit at a time.
What we do
- Make restrooms findable. Search by place, city, ZIP or your current location, and see the distance to each one.
- Put accessibility first. Wheelchair-accessible stalls, grab bars, changing tables, gender-neutral rooms, Braille signs and automatic doors are tracked for every listing.
- Keep ratings honest. One review per person per place, verified email accounts, and a weighted ranking so a single review can’t game the list.
- Stay free. RestRating is free to use, with no app to download.
How ratings work
Every review includes an overall star rating, plus optional scores for cleanliness, stocked supplies and accessibility. Reviewers also tick the features they actually saw.
A feature is shown as confirmed once at least two reviewers — and at least half of everyone who reviewed the place — report it. Our “best match” order uses a weighted average that starts every place near the middle and moves it as reviews come in, so ten great reviews beat one perfect one.
Built for blind, low-vision and disabled visitors
The site works with screen readers and keyboards, and includes its own accessibility panel: larger text, high contrast, a dyslexia-friendly readable font, read-aloud, voice search, bigger buttons and a setting that shows only wheelchair-accessible places. Read our accessibility statement.
